I remember the one of these I had. It would go 110mph on 1500cc, maybe faster down hill.
I drag raced a 55 Chevy 265 stick with it, 'cause the passenger in the Chevy asked me
what it felt to drive a sewing machine. We kept dead even all the way up to 85-90mph
and both backed off the throttle at the same time (a city street). I remember the top would come up by
itself at over 90, which got a person's attention, very quickly.
These cornered very well and were popular in their class on road circuits
Ended up putting 3 rods through the side of the cylinder block,
being young and stupid. But I had a lot of fun with this car.
Mine was black with a red interior and nowhere near in the great restored condition of this one.
