I hate weekends

Boy do those weekends ever suck! Shouldn’t all of those darn people be working? Maybe they can go to the mall and watch a movie. Surely they can’t be crazy enough to waste the day outdoors. There must be some other place that they have to be. But this is my life. I have to share. So we ended up in the very crowded Heather Meadows area. I knew we were in for trouble when there were about thirty people at Nooksack Falls.

We did manage to find parking and checked out Bagley Lakes. We had been here before in a previous August and found the place nearly deserted. At that time the sky was overcast with intermittent showers. The road to Artist Point was closed. Today, however, was sunny. What a difference. We could actually see Mount Baker. I was fairly certain it was there, but up to this point there had been no visual confirmation.

We also spent time on the short trail Artist Ridge trail to Huntoon Point. This is an easy, and very popular trail. One gets to see spectacular views without the exertion experienced on some other trails I can think of. Of course they could also experience great views by staying in the city and taking in an IMAX film. Perhaps they’ll do that tomorrow and leave the hiking to us.

I live here and I know exactly what you mean. Last week was Rattlesnake Ridge for me and before that Franklin Falls and boy were there a lot of PEOPLE EVERYWHERE! People or no people, however, I have to say, this scene of yours is really pretty.
