I left my heart on Park Butte

It’s not completely obvious, but Pocket Lake appears to me to have a slight heart shape.

Schreiber’s Meadow has more trees and huckleberries than grass. I would assume that it’s a natural progression. Who cares when I’m eating ripe huckleberries? I can shoot wildflowers, but they don’t fill my stomach.

Up higher Morovitz Meadow has lots of flowers. It’s mostly heather. There are a few others thrown in here and there, but heather by far dominates the area.

I’ve seen lots of fantastic photographs taken from Park Butte, and especially from the tarns below looking toward Mount Baker. It wasn’t to be on this day. The mountain was hiding behind the clouds. The whole sky was cloudy for the majority of the day. So the day was a bit of a wash photographically speaking. As for hiking, the cooler weather was definitely appreciated.

A beautiful setting. I can visualize a glacier carving out that small lake, Voted.

This is gorgeous! The wildflowers and a touch of snow still. The pocket lake does have the shape of a heart! Nice find!

Although Baker was hidden I definitely would say the day was not a wash photographically... this is gorgeous! Is that Ross lake in the upper left side? Or perhaps Baker Lake???
