This was taken 3/4 mile south of Jetty Park in the city of Cape Canaveral. Jetty Park is one of the best places to view Delta 2 (and the old Atlas 2) launches, however it's a bit too far south and east for liftoff views of the Shuttle or Atlas5/Delta4.

Can I ask where this was taken? I've always wanted to surf and watch a rocket launch :)
Are there preferred locations that are optimal for taking launch pictures?
