Actually most of these were taken with the Rebel Kit lens. The lens info should be assigned to each photos. The compact macro is very sharp, but somewhat slow focusing. The front lens element is so recessed, you don't need a lens shade. If I were buying again from scratch, I think I'd rather have the f1.8 and a 90 or 100mm macro for better working distance.

Were all of these photos of fall colors in New Hampshire and Vermont taken with a Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro lens?? I have been looking at the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 and the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 lenses and am trying to decide which of the three to purchase to complement the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-56 IS USM and Canon EF 17-40mm F4L lenses which I have. I would sincerely welcome your advice.
