Wenatchee Area Has Always Been The " Apple Capital Of The World".. ( Of course , that is changing) These lables a just a few of the known 4,600 apple and pear lables that use to be around from the turn of the century till about the late 50's when the old wooden crate boxes were replaced by cardboard boxes with the lable ' Stamped" on the end. For years the old labels were just burned, hauled to the dump,etc. and it wasn't till the late 70's that folks started to look back at what nice local "Art" these reaaly were. Now days some lables are quite rare and worth a few hundred dollars each and will go up with time. I have been collecting for about 20 years and enjoy labels that depicit scenery of what ' Use" to be in this lovely area. ( Lable collecting is not just a Washington Apple thing, Califoria had over 8,000 citrus box labels and have their own group of colloctors as does Florida who rank 3rd in old lables...
