Day After Thankgiving 1945, a school bus skidded off the road in a freak early snowstorm and slid into the icy waters of the lake at this very spot. Several of the school kids made in out before the bus sank ,but 18 did not.. One can not drive by this spot without thinking what a horrible day that must have been. Today , the lake is peaceful and as lovely as can be with only a small memorial headstone to mark the spot where this happened in Nov. 1945....
