My " 1989 Ford F150 Short Box Truck" ( 245,000 Miles And Still Going Strong)

Ardenvoir, Washington

I bought this new brand new in Oct. 1988. C-6 auto tranny, 4 wheel drive and manual hubs. Tires are Cooper SST's 30X 9.50's,,, great in the snow plus their siped. It's been in some great areas and never let me down,,, A dare say better than most women I have met. This truck has the old school " 300 Six " motor which is a straight 6 design which ford quit making after 30 years ,, ( A Big mistake I would say) It offers economy, and lots of torque in a small long lasting package. It's outlasted most Chevy's and all the women I ever knew...... Great truck and still strong after our 19 year relationship...

B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!! we had a '77 F-150 with a 4.9L Straight 6 engine and it pulled better than the 350 5.7 in our Suburban. we used to pull trees out with that thing no problem. great trucks and the engines run forever. now we have a 4.0L V6 in our Ford Explorer. even those things pull and go pretty fast. i guess the 3:73 rears help with the speed....but even WITH the auto-locking front hubs, it gives us AWD. something we need at our camp. i love it.

Its a shame Ford quit making the 300 six. They are far more reliable than the 4.2 liter V-6 that replaced it and the 300 six has much more low end grunt than Dodge's 3.9 V-6 (which is a TOTAL DOG by the way) and Chevy's 4.3. Not a good move on Ford's part.
