" Old School " Communication Line

Trinidad, Washington

"Telephone poles with insulatators are still being used on some areas of the railroad. The " Top " cross arm lines are no longer used and use to carry " Telegraph Lines" for Western Union,etc. Even as late as the early 80's, railroads still operated telegraphs. This are slowly going the way of old barns and Indian Head Pennies. In only a few more years, poles and lines like this one will be a thing of the past. This one is located near Trinidad where " Thieves are busy stealling the wires for their copper value.....

Cooper thiefs- crack heads- are stealing cables, both phone and electric, almost as fast as it's installed in some of the new housing-planned community- projects in the desert area of So Cal. There are signs offering a $2,000 reward for turning in a wire thief.
