Got to go with Angela on one of her 5th grade school outting as they rode the steam train at Chehalis Washingting. Being A Railroad Engineer, this was " Old Hat" but fun to share trip with Angela. The steam engineer was an oil burner and used 105 gallons of oil on it's hour ride. Also used 650 gallons of water. As far as being fuel efficent, steam engines suck! My modern today engine used maybe 150 gallons of fuel in 24 hours and is worked much harder than this enigeer was pulling 2 cars of people at 25 miles an hour.
