The trail ( and gear) had changed alot in 23 years. I had to " Re-learn how to hike in 2000. Being older, I was too far out of shape to hike as I did in 1977 and quickly found how nice light gear is to use. Even a fat old " Has Been" can still hike 20 miles a day with todays hiking poles ( A God Send) and light gear....
