Gardner Snake Strikes Fatal Blow !!

Wenatchee Washington

Actually 6 inch snake out on a 58 degree day in Wenatchee on my little bike ride. I almost ran him/her over and stopped to test my little Cannon 710 IS out. Snake is strike at me and was quite " Lively" for such a cold day.

Canon PowerShot A710IS
1/400s f/4.0 at 10.0mm full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

I like the way the snake colors and textures melt with the road.

i video taped my 2yr swinging a gardner snake around by its tail while my 4yr old was asking my 2yr old to save him i had to make my 2yr old put it down before he killed it. now the snake will not leave my flower garden and my 2yr old checks on him every day.

That is a terreatrial gardner snake. I own two and they are quite nice. Good shot though. What area was this photo taken? Oh. And that is also a boy because the females have darker heads.

Awesome shot!!! Great DoF and superb detail!! Vote! ...Tried to photograph a rattlesnake while out in Nevada recently, but think I was a bit nervous! Not tack sharp! :-(
