It seems brutal to kill a wild animal to eat ( 350 lbs. of meat) but humans have always been hunters and this something our family has done my whole life. In Washington State, hunting was as common as it is now in Alaska , in my years growing up. To me, destroying the Elk's habitat with Trophy houses all our their winter range is more of a crime. The fees you pay to hunt help protect the animals as a whole and give a boost to the local economy where mill jobs are shipped overseas as raw logs.....
