Someone had filled it with Kerosene and let it set for 39 years. ( A new generator and cap did the trick. ) Still needs a handle though..

Groovy! You could have taken the stuff out of the generator and cleaned with carb cleaner. $10 saved. The seals in the caps can also be replaced. Still, you have about $30 in it. A great deal by any standard - and it still looks great. DR
