These are the kind of creeks and rivers I love, those found in the Cascade Mountains and their foothills. We did a float down an Alaska River near Talkeetna and I thought it was so boring visually and lacking in delightful sound too. I realized a gal growing up in the shadow of the Cascades is harder to impress! The sound of water dancing over river rocks, the kind of vegetation lining the rivers and creeks, and the dappled sun shining down bouncing off the rocks, the water, and the trees, I love them. (And no worries about accidentally crossing paths with a grizzly bear!)
