Young hiker point the large milage they made with their heavy loads walking Pacific Crest Trail May 1977. 60 to 70 lb. packs were not uncommon as were the heavy leather boots. Tdoay they would be laughted off the trail with this type of gear!!

i would not exchange my lather boots for nothing.... The old ones were 15 years old (and still very good), i gave them to my guide in mt. ararat. The new ones just became fit after i year.... got to check pacific crest someday... :)
