My " Own Everest " In My Backyard!!! ) Mt. Maude

Ice Lakes , Washington Cascades

SOmetimes , you really don't nedd to go to " Nepal " to find a " Path Less Traveled ". The Entiat Valley Approach To Ice Lakes/ Mt. Maude is a rare wildeness route where you see far more animals than people. Your companions are more likely deer, pikas, bobcats and yes, a high number of cougars. I even saw my first " Wolverine " early in the year up this valley. The views would give anything in New Zealand a " Run For It's Money ", and far cheaper to travel to than Nepal. Cost is a few bucks for gas and a few peanutbutter/jam sandwiches,, more do an ample job of competing with a cliff bar/ power bar or any of the " New Age " Super Snacks",,,,,

Fantastic open expanse shot - love to explore that region; and closer than New Zealand too! V
