Big Hill Cabin Ride ( 30 Mile Ride, Above Upper Entiat Valley)

Great ride beginning at the snow park at Mile Marker 25 of upper Entiat Road. Ride takes you high above Entiat Valley with view across Lake Chelan to the Sawtooth Mt.s on Lake's Other Side. Highlight is reaching Big Hill Cabin which was bunks and a wood stove ( Which Eric Helped Install Years Ago) Cabin Was Nuilt In 1933 And Was Originaly A Garage Next To The Lookout Also Built In 1933. In The 1940's, Forest Service Converted Garage Into A Cabin For Firefights/Work Crews. Sometime in the 1950's , The Lookout Was Removed.... (Rode With Tammy And Eric Who Are Longtime Locals Of The Area And Great Snowmobile Riders)

Used to take the 4- h kids for camping here. We even got paint/brushes and rollers to repaint cabin years ago supplied by USFS to do the work. Was great for the kid AND me. Also due to broken glass from vandals we replaced DONATED glass from COLUMBIA PAINT AND GLASS in Ephrata, Wa The owners name Larry White. You will find his name on the wall facing Lake Chelan, a respectable snowmobiler. There are also my kids names EMILIE /Stacy and others. Including a great family story about Coots Miller who his family brought him here for his final days. The cabin and view have been wonderful for many. I even wrote a childhood story about the area for my daughter. Never
