2007 Okanogan " Barter Fair"

Held 11 miles east of Tonasket. This is as " Throw Back" as possible to the old days of a " Rock Festibal" with as bit of " Fur Trading Gathering " and Grateful Dead Concert Tour" mixed all in one. Amazing in this day of " Law And Order" and " Police State Living" that something like this is still being held. My last Barter Fair I attend was in Northport Wash. in 1986. ( Most of these folks where probably there as well. Lots of stuff to buy from old bikes, soap, stoves, and anything else old hippies sell. Quite a fun day. I am only sorry not to bring more money or shoot more photos....

i was playing my sax at the lopez circle and kinda was having hard time keeping track of my pack and a nice woman named brandy helped me and we chatted a minute. she said she grew up round tanasket and is a nurse and into cars. i would really love to get a chance to thank her and possibly talk a minute. i can be reached at mathewnels@yahoo.com. had a great time at the fair. even though crew of kids jacked my pack later that morning by the main circle, after it happened i talked with some other kids round and i wasn't the only persons pack they made off with.whatever. much love to all the beautiful people who make the trip, and that make it happen.

in 2007 i atended the Okanogan Barter Fair, it was and still is the best thing that happend to me this year i'll be there this year and hope to see the same and more faces. thanks larz, degar,& Nikky

hey iv lived in omak for 6 years and barder fair is the best event iv ever been a part of i highly recremend it to any free spirited person.

When's the next barder fair my mom used to take my brother and I when we were to young to do anything. My mom lives in kansas now and is coming to visit for the four and we all want to go to a barder fair

i used to live in tonasket washington way the hell up frosty creek road almost by rebublic fn loved it :) i was there when they had the very first barter fair there try to go there every year love the people,the atmosphere,the beautiful land its on just everything about it is freaken sweet!!!! hopefully i will have the chance to go there this year will probally cost me a shite load n gas but its always worth it love your pics n glad that somebody else loves the fair as much as i do !! peace out from this hippie dude who now lives in port angeles washington :)

I have been to this barter fair for the past three years. And every year it get better. So many good memories come from there. Hey do any of oyu know when the next one is? Or when they are going to start to decide the date for it? I am very anxious and I cant wait!!!! Peace and Love !

These pictures are making me itch for another freezing, smokey, crowded faire-I wouldn't miss it for the world! Last year I brought my sons ages 10 and 3, they need this kind of nurturing. There isn't enough of it in the mainstream. They loved it, I think they may have worn their own path up the mountain! ha ha This year however, I think its just gonna be me and my husband. I need to be able to get down at the drum circle in the wee hours of the morning! See you all there!

i went to the barderfair last year for the first time..we drove up their and back from spokane all in one day..it was the funest thing i have ever done..i heard their not havein one this year and now im very sad..

Dude i went to this barter fair for my first barter fair!! It was awesome! I remember the guy with the acordian walking by playing. I am glad to see those pics
