Bruntingthorpe 2004

Source: Slidefilm
Location: Bruntingthorpe Air Base (closed), United Kingdom
Date: 2-5-2004

Travelling back in time, is that possible? According Albert Einstein it should be theoretically possible and according some comics and movies, I have seen, it is also possible in real life. But… do you know any person who has travelled back in time? I do not know them…

For aviation enthusiasts, on the other hand, it is possible to travel back in time! Just go to Bruntingthorpe airfield in the United Kingdom and you will travel back in time in the British aviation history!

On Bruntingthorpe airfield are various groups active. All these groups have one main aim, the preservation of old aircraft and several times a year they organise the so-called taxi days. On these occasions you will find famous aircraft like the mighty Victor, the 'designed-for-speed' Lightnings, a Hunter, a Buccanneer, a Comet and several other icons from the (once) rich British aviation history.

Those aircraft are not presented in a static way. No, these aircraft are fully serviceable and they perform take off runs even including the roaring afterburners in case of the Lightnings (do not forget your ear protection!!!).

So, aviation enthusiasts go to Bruntingthorpe, travel back in time and enjoy!
