Saskatoon's century-old bridge is referred to variously as the Iron Bridge, the Traffic Bridge, and several other names.
It is now closed to all traffic -- including pedestrians -- because, as the mayor put it, it could collapse under its own weight
at any moment due to severe rusting. Only a few years ago City Council voted to spend nearly half a million dollars
on multi-coloured lights (now extinguished) but apparently nobody thought of spending any money on paint in the last 50 years.
