Roadside police checks by one of the several kinds of police forces was common, especially when it is a gringo driving a larger vehicle.
At the urging of the driver, I hid the camera moments after taking this picture through the windshield.
Apparently none of them saw me take the photo, because a small "contribution" passed over with the driver's license took care of the problem.
