Varying from 6 ft [2 m] to 10 ft [3 m] in height, this wall is 17 ft [5 m] thick (see top view). It protects the Place of Refuge. It is all dry-packed lava chunks (i.e. no cement or mortar was used in its construction, several hundred years ago).
