Big Island B305547

Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, Big Island, Hawaii

Now, THAT is a fence ! Varying from 6 ft [2 m] to 10 ft [3 m] in height, it is 17 ft [5 m] thick. It protects the Place of Refuge.
It is all dry-packed lava chunks (i.e. no cement or mortar was used in its construction, several hundred years ago).
