Hail 8147096

Driving home yesterday, we ran into a stretch of hail. All told, we were in it
for about 20 minutes--sometimes pulled over when it got so thick it wasn't safe to keep driving,
and sometimes driving along on the shoulder at about 30 kph. Mostly, it was marble-sized, but there were a few golf ball-sized ones
now and again. A still photo really doesn't do it justice, and since this was taken early in the storm, it doesn't show much accumulation.
My wife, who was about 20 minutes behind us in another vehicle, saw plenty of windrows and piles of hailstones.
Only a couple of dents in the car, but prairie cars are used to the look. After we'd been home for a few hours, we got another hailstorm.
It did a bit of damage to the tomatoes and pears, but nothing serious.
