Every year Scarborough holds a Preview Event for those people who have purchased a Friends of Faire season pass. The day consists of the final rehearsals before opening, and the morning is closed to the public. Dress Rehearsal Day traditionally also begins with an activity called "Costume Parade". This is the time when everyone finally wears their completed costuming, and in a very fashion-show-esque type occasion, shows it off to the rest of the performing company. After that the Company Director gave out everyone's cast pins and parking passes. Finally, a short time after noon, the gates opened and the Friends of Faire came in. They get to watch rehearsals for events such as The Human Chess Match and Afternoon Court Dance. It all ends with the performing company members changing back into civvies and joining the FoF's at a picnic given by the Faire so that everyone can get to know each other. It's a fun event for the pass holders, and a nice start to the Faire season for cast.
