There are a couple of traditions for the Sunday before Opening Day at Scarborough. The first is Costume Parade. This is when the performing company has a "fashion show" which gives each actor a moment to shine and to show off the clothing that their character will be wearing for the season. It is a time of laughter, and character specific fun, and the unveiling of new costumes that no one has seen before...all set to a specifically chosen soundtrack. It is one of my favorite moments of Workshops, to be honest.

The second tradition is that the Sunday before Opening is Friends of Faire Preview day. This is when the Friends of Faire Pass Holders get a sneak peak at the changes that have been made to the grounds and an advance introduction to the characters who will be inhabiting them during the upcoming season. It is essentially a very abbreviated faire day, with some of the performing company stage shows happening followed by a meet and greet with the cast.
