Monks Nest

Sugar Land, Texas

A Monk stands in the circular doorway to the communal nest, high up in the electric towers.

The monk parakeet, also known as the Quaker parrot, is a species of true parrot in the family Psittacidae.
Monk parakeets are the only member of the parrot family to build stick nests and to nest colonially.
Their bulky nests provide a year-round home for the colony.
