Mules Ears

Big Bend National Park, Texas

The iconic Mule Ear Peaks are two rhyolite dikes that have been eroded away over time.
Located on the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive, you can observe the dikes from the road or do the 3.6-mile round trip hike to the spring.
In Big Bend there are many astonishing geologic formations. Wherever you decide to explore, you’re bound to find something awesome.
