Mission Concepcion

San Antonio, Texas

The cruciform construction with twin towers, barrel-vaulted roof and dome ceiling are but a few of the architectural features that made their debut at Concepción in 1755.
Imagine the masterfully carved limestone columns complimented by a plastered façade, ornately frescoed with yellow and orange squares filled with red and blue quatrefoils and crosses.

Wonderful view of the towers. The colors and details are outstanding. Can imagine how it would look like way back in the 1700's! V
