August 3

Sugar Land, Texas

Fine Art Ceramics sold in a back alley, behind a Music store.
I didn't bother going in. I did report the backstore business to the city, though.
This happens a lot here. Fake business selling fake stuff. They make it a few weeks before getting discovered, then they move somewhere else.
The Music business most likely sublet part of the space, despite the lease and laws about that.
The owners plead ignorance and language barriers prevented them from understanding.

Actually I think they have the language down quite well. "Ceramics Research Institute Of Fine Art"; every word selected to punch the right button of the poor mugs who go in there thinking that they're getting a work of art rather than a "Made In China" sticker on a mass production job that cost $1.50 to produce.

I bet half the stuff sold that is supposedly authentic are fakes. I am glad you reported it. V
