Itty Bitty Bladder
Not really funny. Finn is still sick after a whole week of medications.
Today, I took him to Dr. Desai. Our family vet of 25+ years has recently retired and she was recommended.
After running tests and examining him, she seems to think part of his problem is that is bladder is too small.
This has been told to me by two different doctors in the past.
It is highly sensitive to any inflammation and it takes a while to heal after a bout of cystitis.
Idiopathic cystitis - or inflammation of the bladder from an unknown aetiology (causation).
We are at home with some pain medication and Amitriptyline (antidepressant) to help with his anxiety.
I'm the one who had anxiety... from paying the vet bill and worrying about my sweet boy.

I feel your pain about the bills. Thankfully cats seem to be pretty robust critters and can come through things like this, though of course it's hard not to worry until they do.

Aw, I hope he's feeling better very soon—for both of your sakes!

Oh dear, poor Finn (and poor you, too)! I hope he recovers quickly. I agree, the X-ray is fascinating, but I'd prefer to see a picture of a healthy Finn.

Poor little guy! I hope that the new meds will help him and get him on the road to recovery.
Fascinating xray image!
