January 12

Sugar Land, Texas

Gull Frenzy
A busy morning and then lunch hour for me. I had several errands and a stop to feed some stray cats.
I decided to take a 10 minute "mental vacation" with a walk along the lake outside my office.
No sooner did I get there, and a little man came along with a big bag of chopped bread and sandwich fixings.
He began feeding ducks and 30 seconds later, the gulls descended upon us.
So much for peace and quiet.

You should have brought the cats with you, that way you could have killed two birds with one... oh, wait, poor choice of words.
This is a great action shot, with so many of them frozen mid-flap. Gulls can be a nuisance but they are a very photogenic nuisance.

There seem to be some turbulences in the air...
I really have the feeling they fly off from my screen!

Looks like a feeding frenzy to me! Great capture of the action, even if all you wanted was some peace and quiet. V.
