NOVEMBER 22 - A THANKFUL THANKSGIVING

State Line

Happy Thanksgiving to my U.S. Pbase friends.

This is the Sabine River, and the borderline between the two states of Texas & Louisiana.
I thought it was interesting that there was a red vapor stripe almost following the state
line and dividing the sky.

Tom and I are so blessed and so thankful this Thanksgiving.
We feel especially fortunate that we were spared from being involved in a horrible accident
that involved over 140 cars and trucks.

We left early for Lousiana because we wanted to avoid the heavy Holiday traffic.
Thank God we did that. An hour or so after we traveled through the Winnie to Beaumont stretch
of I-10 east, this accident happened. The wreck closed the freeway for over 8 hours.
Two were killed and and more than 80 people were taken to local hospitals.
The pileup left trucks twisted on top of each other and rescue workers rushing to pull
survivors from the wreckage. This photo from a Beaumont newspaper.

Beautiful and peaceful view of the sky and water Lynn! VV
I am soooooooo happy and thankful that you left early too! I had seen the accident on the news, but your image that you've posted is amazing too. I hope that the injured have a speedy recovery; may those who lost their lives RIP.

Oh my god you do have something do be thankful for.... and this is why I use to leave at 1 am to go home for Christmas because of all the crazyness when traffic gets worse...and you get the great sunrise moment too.

The two pictures are complete opposites - peaceful and wonderful water landscape, the horrible accident looks like after a terrible hurricane...
Lucky you have decided to start early! Great pictures Lynn!

Love the sunset and reflected sky.
Busy roads are always dangerous, but more so it seems at holiday times.
