Autumn is coming to southern Texas.
Many don't realize that we get 4 seasons in this area of the Gulf Coast.
Autumn is short, the month of November. Then we get a snowless winter for about 2 months.
By February, Spring will begin.
In the 30 years that I've lived here, we have had Snow 4 times. But we always get
several Hard Freezes, so Tropical plants need to be planted in an area that is sheltered
or covered on those few nights that freeze.
I have old sheets in a box in the attic. When we are expecting a freeze, I cover most
of my plants.
We also get many nice Winter days, where the sun is warm enough that a light jacket or
sweater is plenty warm enough.
