Burlington Northern and Santa Fe.
I have an extensive collection of 35mm photos from my "pre-digital" days. Many of them are shots of trains.
My father is a die-hard RAILFAN and photographer. He encouraged me to take up photography and in 1978, he helped
me get my first good camera - a Petri FTEE and all the lenses and filters. We spent many, many hours standing
On the railroad tracks, waiting for a 30 second opportunity to snap off shots of passing engines.
I don't have the best scanner and some of these photos weren't in good condition, but this gallery
is more about the color schemes of the different railroads.
These photos came out very well!! There's something about a train... think of all the train songs there are. The sound of a train whistle always sounds sort of lonesome to me, but not in a bad way. V.
