Maasai Mara, May 26, 2013 - The Morning Game Run

This was such an animal packed day & they were so photogenic, I will have to split it up into two parts! The wake up call for this morning was early - really early. Mike and Deb were going on the balloon ride, while Don, Jim and I 'chased' the balloon, along with Daniel of course. We saw Mike & Deb & the balloon off at the launching site and then jumped into the Land Cruiser with James as our driver/guide and set off in search of the landing site. We just missed them landing - we were about 5 min too late, but we did get to see them 'sailing' across the plains as we were en route.
En route we saw:
Crowned crane, topi in the sunrise, warthog, zebra on the airfield, impala, topi, cape buffalo & elephant
We joined them for breakfast - I tell you, this is the BEST breakfast anywhere in the world, nothing beats having sausages & eggs out with the animals in the middle of the Mara.
Wildlife seen after breakfast on the game run:
lilac breasted roller, common eland, giraffe, a whole pride of tree-climbing lions! (about 14-15 in the pride), elephant, zebra, topi & tommies all over the road.
