Waratah

The Waratah (Telopea speciosissima) is the State of NSW's floral emblem and is widespread in the Sydney district. But I can not remember a better year for them in the bush. The flowers are up to 15cm accross. Normally a bright red but some like this one are partially pinky white.

No I can't remember a better year for them either. This is a particularly good shot.
