Tiruthani Murugan Temple

Tiruthani Murugan temple is one of the famous Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Muruga.
It is one of the Arupadaiveedu, the six holy abodes of Lord Muruga.The beautiful
temple of Lord Muruga at Tiruttani crowns a single rock 700 feet above sea level.
It is situated amidst a range of hills with a dramatic panoramic view.
Thiruthani is located 87 kms from Chennai. Situated on a hillock, the Murugan
temple is accessed by a winding flight of 365 steps. Each symbolically represents
one day of the year. Here, Lord Muruga sits resplendent with his consort Valli
whom he married after bringing her from the nearby Vallimalai.

Thiruthani is a 2 hours trip from chennai. Frequent buses are available from Chennai Moffusil Bus terminus(CMBT), Koyambedu and few trains from central. The temple is open from morning to nite 8pm. Devotees who wish to stay at this temple place can book their rooms at TTDC(tmailnadu Tourism Development Corporation) hotels. Please visit www.ttdconline.com for more details.
