The nights are fair drawing in.

Yet again very little time to do anything else but take Liam to his guitar lesson. By the time his lesson starts it is already dark, so photographic opportunities are becoming increasingly rare, particularly for someone like me, who hates using flash and who feels too self-conscious to set up a tripod. I much prefer long exposures to flash photography, but without a tripod, things are difficult. Not impossible though, and I often manage to find a workaround. So, 30 minutes spent at the park trying to photograph things by the light of the streetlamp was almost ruined by the fact that I had put the 18-70mm auto lens on, and it's a bugger to set up manually. Nevertheless, I persevered with it and managed to get a few reasonable shots using the ground, a wall and a street cabinet as my tripod. Liam handed me a note when I picked him up. It was from his guitar tutor, letting us know that she is putting her prices up by almost 15% in a couple of weeks. That is some hike.

Last year I was going underground, but I didn't hear any brass bands playing

I hate using flash too. The grass here really makes the shot.

Humm, likes low light... self-conscious to set up a tripod... I sense inner tension, LOL. Stu, this is beautiful color. Very inviting image.

Very Nice shot Stu, but if this is Celtic Park shouldn't I be able to see goal posts?

It looks like two different types of lights, tungsten and mercury vapor. Was it? Sure caused some nice colors. Good shot Stewart.

Wow streetlights, we have one of those too, nice shot well worth the effort.

Well sometimes we do get around without the tripods indeed... (I am forced to do without mine, because it broke and I still didn't replace it...) if we look well there's always one thing or other that will help us make the shot.
Great exposure on this night photo. I like the variety of colours very much.

Oddly, I suffer the same disposition regarding tripods. However, I've not got something like this to show for my efforts without. Nicely done, I love those golden hues.

Well executed night shot. Excellent colors!

Neat color. Your makeshift tripods worked very well. Why is she hiking her prices? It's not like she's driving around all day. Or that her cost of goods has increased.

Thats a good shot Stewart, the mix of sodium and fluorescent light makes for interesting viewing.
