The road to the Isles

2 August 2005

460
I know now what it is that I really want to do with my life - at least until I start teacher training next September. I would like to spend the next 12 months travelling around Scotland accepting commissions to take photographs of places in this country for people who will not have the opportunity to do it for themselves. Any offers, anyone? Nope! Didn't think so. Ah well, I guess I'll just have to get back to the translation that is preventing me from getting out to take photographs of my beautiful country, and which means that I have to resort to putting up an image I captured while I was in Easdale a couple of days ago. Just remember, I will go anywhere in Scotland to get that image you want... you just have to say the word (and agree a price!). I'm sitting waiting for your call...

...still waiting...

One year on, and this ugly and illegal sign is still intimidating people

This is truly beautiful countryside. And yet you have no takers? :) There is almost a desolation to the land and old wharf which contrasts nicely with the sparkling inviting water.

First of all this photo is so deliciously serene... I can feel the sun. (Love the sun halo).. and the blue is so beautiful.
Secondly.. wouldn't that be great? to just do that for a living? sigh

Ahhh, the sparkling waters of blue and green. Looks like your pier has seen better days. Beautiful shot. I'd hire you if I lived in Scotland.
Robin Reid02-Aug-2005 19:32
As I peer at this pier it appears that it won't get me anyplace in Scotland.
When you get a chance bop up to the Hebrides and grab a few shots. When you come to San Diego I'll reimburse you! ;-)

I thought this was the old pier out the port!
hmmm, there doesn't seem to be many pics of Bute, maybe you should go there! ;-)

Perhaps we could do a deal Stu? The delights of places such as Slough and Bracknell are less than an hour away from me - shall I clear the line? ;-)

This is a fine study - and it even includes some sun (that's where it went?)
