Little boats

17 June 2005

415.
Yet another day without my camera. I find it quite liberating, if the truth be known. My sensor is still dirty, so much so that I am seriously considering sending it back to Nikon to be cleaned professionally. Either that or I'll just not bother. Or I might even be tempted to provoke a fault with the electronics, rendering it dead, then take it back to the shop and get a new one. Gavin's camera died of natural causes - it wasn't murdered - and he got a brand new one in exchange! The way my luck is, my camera will die the day after the guarantee runs out! The weather was nice, so I thought that I might do a little gardening after work. Well, when I say 'gardening', what I really mean is a quick sprint round the edges of what passes for a lawn with the strimmer. I find that the strimmer is a good tool for stemming the steady advance of the weeds. Anyway, best laid plans, and all that. I plugged the strimmer in and switched it on, only to be confronted with a farting noise and a puff of blue smoke. It battled vainly to spin, but when the flames started coming out of the motor, I knew that its weed-killing days were over. Hey, it got me off the gardening. Tomorrow I will spend the morning in the DIY shop picking a new one. The only question is, can I make that journey last several hours, and can I do it without being asked to go to the supermarket? BTW, don't forget to have a peek at my Lisbon Story gallery... pretty please with strawberries on top!

Very well done... I like your finish.
Why not trade it in for a Canon? :0

That is a lovely scene. Have you tried using a hair dryer to blow the dust off the sensor ???

Great textures and b/w tretment. All these boats look like they were built by the same person. Sorry to hear about your strimmer. What's a strimmer? :)
