Joćo

At last! I've caught up and am now completely, totally and definitively up to date with my photos. You'll be glad to know after yesterday's rant that I am not going to be saying much today. I will, however, introduce you all to Joćo the Cćo. So named because he was purchased in Portugal and, when Liam was much younger, I was instructed to take him to Portugal with me every time I had to travel there. He is a bit the worse for wear is this little globetrotting toy, for as well as having to share bag space with clothes and shoes, he has seen his fair share of the inside of washing machines. Joćo is a diminutive fellow, and can quite easily fit inside a coat pocket. He was one of Liam's favourites because he accompanied me on my trips, so Liam could be with me by proxy. As for his name... well, we decided on Joćo because it rhymes with cćo. Cćo is the Portuguese word for dog, which is what Joćo is (or at least he is a representation of one). So that's it. You've now met all of Liam's old friends. Now I'll really have to think hard about what to photograph tomorrow!

Your getting as bad as Claudia, she has nearly enough soft toys to keep my PaD going for the whole year !

Very nice story. What if toys could talk... I guess this one would have a lot of exiting memories from around the world to share. :)

He looks like a wonderful traveling fellow. I love how he's Liam's proxy on your trips. (chuckling over Jeanne's comment here too. :)

He is a cute fellow, more so for all his travels. Nice stories with the animals, Stu.

These toys have done double-duty; first for Liam when he was little and this past week for you!!

Are you absolutely sure that this is the last one of your companions? Liam has a nice collection there and I would peek in some closets just to ensure that he really is the last one of the crew. I like that you captured them. I lost my teddy, which was actually a monkey before I joined the army. He kept me company for 33 years. I still miss him, but do not tell anyone ;)

I love the idea of you carrying João with you so Liam could be with you by proxy. Many working moms and dads need to know about this!

When I was about 10, I gave most of my soft toys to the school jumble sale. Then I went and bought most of them back. Strange how they can come to mean so much...
