Liam stayed over at a friend’s house last night, so that meant that I had to disturb my Saturday morning viewing of Soccer AM to go over and pick him up. Got him, drove 300 metres down the road when he told me he had forgotten his CDs. Went back. Got home, and he told me that he had left his school tie. Told him we’d get it tomorrow. Once home, Liam went straight to his room and promptly fell asleep (because sleeping is one thing that they don’t do at sleepovers). I have been trapped in the house all week, so I decided that I needed to get out and stretch my legs – and not just drive all over the place, as I usually do. I went up Auchterhouse Hill for the first time since May. I hauled my camera and tripod with me. The walk up only took about 30 minutes (it’s not that big a hill), so I had my sandwiches, a cup of coffee, took some photos, and received a call on my mobile asking me to go to the supermarket on the way home. Fully instructed, I left Auchterhouse, and decided that I would go up Balkello Hill as well, which is where I came across a group of people abseiling down the side of an old quarry. The rain stayed off until I got back in the car. I enjoyed my walk.
