With the thaw underway, I thought it would be the ideal time to head up the Sidlaws.
From my window, I could see the hills were still covered in deep snow.
I could also see that the roads were now clear and that I could make it up there.
I overestimated my stamina and ability to get up and down again before the weather closed in.
So, instead of traipsing through energy-sapping snow that was knee-deep at times, I did the circular route.
That involved avoiding the steepest parts and heading back to the car park.
I did pause to catch my breath at the half-way mark.
