Today I decided, on a whim, to climb Kinpurney Hill.
It is only just within the five-mile boundary... as the crow flies on Google Maps.
So I felt comfortable that I was not breaking the law.
The first part of the walk is along the main road, then there is a sign pointing to a path that leads up the hill.
It initially passes through a narrow strip of woodland with a burn cascading down.
It is a gentle introduction, because once you are out of the wood and away from the burn, the only way is up.
No zigzagging, no meandering. Straight up.
It was brutal and a lot more strenuous than I remember.
But I made it and will probably try again when the weather gets warmer.
I'm a bit disappointed with the Helios: it doesn't seem to want to focus at infinity.
