Another hot day in this Indian summer we're having.
I should have gone to the beach or for a swim somewhere.
Instead, I weeded our very overgrown bottom garden.
I removed an old fence we put there to stop Liam from falling down when he was small.
Now he's more sensible and can recognise hazards... or maybe not.
So, I cleared out all the weeds and forked the soil to break it up.
I built a retaining fence to help level the surface.
Then I went over it with a hoe to break it up even more and bring up all the roots and bulbs.
I don't expect I got them all, but not to worry.
I will cover the soil with cardboard then cover the cardboard with compost.
That should take care of the weeds.
Then next spring I will plant potatoes and onions.
