It's interesting to see the front of the houses along Marine Parade and the house on the corner of Alexandra Road had gardens at the front then hence the washing line with clothes on. Its amazing how time changes things. We as a family played here on the beach when we were young from the age of four years with my two sisters - it was our beach we called as it was at the top of the road we lived then - Alexandra Road and so did our neighbours. We played on the raft which was anchored to the sea bed by chains I wish those times could be returned. It was a time when families and neighbours spent time togther swimming, building sand castles and eating package lunches up there all day long. Julia McDougall
