the man on the bottom row, far right is William Archibald Jones. He was in the dockyard from 1902 (apprentice shipwright) until 1947 when he retired as foreman. He had been foreman in Simonstown in 1924 to 1927. His father William Brown Jones, his son Robert Jones, and several of his grandsons worked for H.M. Dockyards. He and his wife had 3 girls and a son, their home from 1938 until their deaths was on St Helens road. I am the son of Bertha, one of the daughters.

Hi Trevor Came upon this photo yesterday whilst celebrating my mother's 95th birthday. Her father, Harry Hayllar, is second from the left, second row from the front. She was thrilled.He began working in the Dockyard in 1915 as an engineer.

hi it is a very interesting site trever, my great great great grandfather worked on the dock as a rigger but died in a acccident on the dock as i just found out but was in 1865ish i wish i knew what he looked like my tree on this family is very confusing. have you any pictures of a place called slaughter house row as that is where my ancesters lived allso a marine passage, i dont live in sheppy but across the water in whitstable . elizabeth :)
