I think what Wendy is referring to above is a copy of the Stephen Rowse diaries in Maidstone county archives where he mentioned the history of the crooked billet eastchurch. This is recorded on the Dover pubs website which now includes Sheppey pubs with lots of photos.

If anyone is interested I info that between 1745 - 1792 a Mr Bradshaw and family lived here, followed by Mr Hodges and family. Also possibly a Mr Davidson or Mr Dawson. The owners during that time were Mr Barling followed by Mr Montrefore of Throwley. I Can't be precise as the document I have is handwritten and in old English. Unfortunately the posts relate to later times and as yet I have no info on this....although I may research it later.

Does anyone know if any of the "Woollett" family(descendants of Frank and Louise) who ran the pub in the early 1900's are still in the area, my dad was their grandson only son of Violet Georgia?

Hi
I have a distant relative - named Henrietta NORAH Emma Godden who on her 1926 marriage certificate to Victor Halls, is listed as living here. If anyone has any information it would be greatly received.
Thanks
